The Treehouse, as the homeowners call it, is nestled high in the pines above Whitefish Lake in Montana. The home’s exterior is understated, and its subdued tones allow it to melt into the hillside. The interior was imagined with transparency in mind—windows and doors open effortlessly, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.

Built among the Northern Rocky Mountains, this spectacular home embodies all that this wild area is known for. Commissioned by the owner of Malmquist Construction, Tyler Frank and his family of five had a vision for living and entertaining in the heart of the mountains, and thus came their 10,148-square-foot home.

HGTV Dream Home 2019 is located on Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana. Breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and Whitefish lake are visible from the property.

The rest is the whimsical design aesthetic, which owner Gail Goodwin describes as Harry Potter meets Hansel and Gretel—think wood paneling, turrets and murals of constellations on the ceiling.

Located on the slopes of Montana’s Whitefish Mountain Resort, the three distinctive Snow Bear Chalets are literally perched among the trees overlooking the mountain views. Far from a typical treehouse abode, these include hot tubs, patios, and luxury touches throughout.
