Ridgeline
BACKGROUND
Originally from Texas, the owners were drawn to Whitefish for its strong sense of community, outdoor lifestyle, and authentic mountain-town character. Passionate about entertaining and sharing experiences with family and friends, they envisioned a home that would serve as both a gathering place and a retreat immersed in the natural beauty of Northwest Montana.
Perched atop Grouse Mountain, the home captures some of the most expansive views in the region, stretching from Whitefish Mountain Resort and Whitefish Lake to Glacier National Park, the Swan Range, and the Mission Mountains beyond. Designed to embrace its extraordinary setting, the home features soaring arched ceilings, expansive windows, and inviting gathering spaces that frame the surrounding landscape from nearly every room.
The result is a mountain retreat that balances refined craftsmanship with warmth, hospitality, and a deep connection to place.
PROJECT NOTES
The home's elevated mountain setting required careful planning to maximize both views and livability. Architectural elements such as the dramatic arched ceilings create a sense of scale while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Entertainment-focused spaces, including the custom wet bar and golf simulator, were thoughtfully integrated into the design, resulting in a home that balances everyday comfort with exceptional hosting capabilities.
I've worked in marketing and design for 18+ years, and even met my wife (also a graphic designer) while working at an ad agency. She is my balance. We now have two young children and are finally learning the value of sleep.
