Lion Mountain Estate
BACKGROUND
The owners were drawn to Whitefish by the strong sense of community and the memorable experiences they enjoyed while visiting the area. Over time, the valley became a place where they could embrace the outdoor lifestyle they value most, including skiing, golfing, and hiking throughout the seasons.
Set in a commanding location, the home captures exceptional views of Whitefish Lake, Whitefish Mountain Resort, the Swan Range, and even Flathead Lake. The architecture and craftsmanship reflect both the scale of the setting and the owners’ appreciation for timeless design. A two-story mahogany library serves as one of the home's defining spaces, complemented by a hand-carved mahogany bar that creates a warm and inviting gathering place below. Throughout the structure, grain-matched arched timber trusses showcase an extraordinary level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The result is a home with exceptional finishes and enduring character, blending the warmth of their Texas roots with the values and lifestyle they have embraced in Whitefish.
PROJECT NOTES
The home's custom craftsmanship is evident throughout, particularly in the extensive mahogany millwork featured in both the library and lower-level bar. The grain-matched arched timber trusses required careful selection and fabrication to achieve a seamless appearance, creating a striking architectural feature that carries throughout the home.
Equally impactful are the expansive views framed from nearly every major living space, reinforcing the connection between the home's refined interior and the surrounding Montana landscape.
