Karsten Carlson
PROJECT MANAGER
I’m originally from Gig Harbor, Washington, and moved to Whitefish in 2000 after graduating from Western Washington University in Bellingham. I’ve been fortunate to build a life here in Northwest Montana, surrounded by the mountains, rivers, lakes, and landscapes that make this place so special.
At Malmquist, I work on site each day helping our teams bring thoughtful design and finish details to life. A big part of my role is interpreting design elements from architects and designers, finding practical solutions as challenges come up, and helping maintain an efficient, streamlined workflow on each project.
What I enjoy most about working at Malmquist is the opportunity to help make beautiful things. We get to work on some of the most amazing homes in Whitefish, and I take a lot of pride in seeing the details come together in a way that reflects the vision of the client, architect, and design team.
Outside of work, you can usually find me chasing fish with a fly rod. I love fly fishing, floating rivers, and trying to trick trout whenever I get the chance. I’m grateful to be part of Malmquist because I get to build amazing homes and long-lasting relationships with our clients, teammates, and friends.
