Jacob Colter
PROJECT MANAGER
I’m originally from the St. Louis, Missouri area. Go Cardinals! My wife, Caitlin, is from the Flathead Valley, and we moved here to be closer to her family after meeting while we were both living in Nicaragua as missionaries.
At Malmquist, I work as a project manager, helping with initial project bidding and estimating, client communication, material selection, procurement, and coordination with designers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors. I enjoy the challenge of working through details along the way, especially when it comes to keeping a project aligned with the client’s vision, budget, and expectations.
What I enjoy most about Malmquist is the network of people I get to work with every day. In a close-knit place like Whitefish, relationships matter. We work with many of the same architects, designers, subcontractors, and vendors over and over, which builds trust, camaraderie, and a shared understanding of how to solve problems well. I’m also grateful to be part of a company with a long-standing reputation for integrity — something you can’t build overnight.
Outside of work, my wife and I love spending time with friends and family, whether that means traveling back to St. Louis, visiting Nicaragua, snowboarding, or camping with our dog, Clover. I also love playing and watching baseball whenever I can.
MY WHITEFISH TIP
Take in a Range Riders baseball game at Glacier Bank Park, and if you’re brave enough, try the Wednesday night dance lessons at the Blue Moon.
