Andrew “Bear” Barinowski
PARNTER
I grew up in Banner Elk, North Carolina on a farm and took a drafting class in High School, which formed a love for buildings. My wife and I were on a bike tour through Canada and the US, we stopped in Whitefish and I thought; I am coming back to that place. I’ve always loved skiing, bikes, motos, kayaking and climbing and this town had all of those. We moved here in 2003 fresh from working with Samaritans Purse in Afghanistan. The community here is tight knit and adventurous.
I work with clients on the front end and try and help our teams with oversite and direction. The projects we work on are one of a kind and so exciting to be a part of. I tell people it is the “golden age” of building here, we’ve built houses for client’s sons and daughters with subcontractors’ sons and daughters. The horsepower we have as a company is great, to be able to build these legacy projects for people. I am always looking for some type 3 fun with suffering as part of the mix. Malmquist has been a great home for me to use my talents and gifts to help people make Whitefish part of their story.
MY WHITEFISH TIP
Good Taco (on a Tuesday) with a sweet peaks cone, a run on Whitefish trails then end the day it with a dive and dip at finger lake!
